Road Bike Trials and Events

Desire 2 Ride road trials are an opportunity to try different bikes - whether you are considering a change or just want a break from the trusty steed.  We are not a bike retailer so there is no attempt to sell you a bike!
 
These trials are usually on a predetermined route of between 30 and 40 miles and a route plan is provided.  We particularly welcome small groups of friends or co-riders on road trials as the shared experience seems to work well.
 
Please note all the normal terms and conditions of hire apply with certain deposit exemptions for road club groups with agreement in advance.

Next Road Trials and Events;

 
Saturday June 11th 2011 - The Brewood Cycle Challenge 2011, three road routes to choose from:
 
  • 16km (10 Miles) - a relatively easy ride with no severe inclines aimed at families or inexperienced cyclists;
  • 50km (30 miles) - with a few inclines for the regular cyclist or those who want to train for the event; and
  • 100km (60 miles) - a severe test of fitness for the experienced cyclists.
Entrants receive course directions, free car parking, on course light refreshments, checkpoints, course marshals and completion certificates and a very welcome hot meal at the finish ... all included in the entrance fee of £10 adults and £5 children!

Desire 2 Ride is offering special hire rates for participants.  We can provide delivery for the morning of the event or offer a discounted rate for a longer hire period to get in some training.
 
Sunday June 12th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing in Stafford town centre.  Starts at 9.30 am.   £20.
 

Sunday June 26th 2011 - The Staffordshire Stunner - a 60 mile route starting and finishing at the Shugborough Outdoor Education Centre.  Entrants are encouraged to raise sponsorship for the UK Sepsis Trust.  £12 entry fee.  For all details, route and the work of the charity go to www.onvelo.co.uk.

Tuesday July 5th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing at the Visitor Centre, Marquis Drive, Cannock Chase.  Starts at 6.30 pm.  £20.

 

Sunday July 10th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing in Stone town centre.  Starts at 10.00 am.   £20.

 

Sunday July 17th 2011 - 50-mile route starting and finishing at the Spiders Web cyclist cafe in Cosford (near Albrighton, Shropshire).  Starts at 10.30 am.  £26.

 

Tuesday July 19th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing in Stafford town centre.  Starts at 6.30 pm.  £20.

 

Friday July 22nd 2011 - 40-mile route starting and finishing in Stafford town centre.  Starts at 6.30 pm.  £25.

 

Sunday July 24th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing in Stafford town centre.  Starts at 6.30 pm.  £20.

 

Sunday August 14th 2011 - 30-mile route starting and finishing at Birches Valley, Cannock Chase.  Starts at 10.00 am.  £20.

 

Later in the year we hope to be at the Newport Nocturne, Stafford Sky Ride and the Prostate Cancer Charity Tour of Britain.
